Boil mulberry leaves water for the health of family

Today is the public holiday of Malaysia. So I decided to boil some mulberry leaves water for my family members. As what I highlighted in my previous post "My success story in curing acne & pimples", mulberry leaf water is my secret weapon on curing my pimples problem during my young time. Although I don't have pimples problem anymore, I still used to drink mulberry leaf once a while when I am free. 

Mulberry leaf water comes with a bit bitter and sweet, from Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, mulberry leaf water is good for liver on detoxification. As we know, liver is essential for human body on excrete metabolic waste and breakdown toxic substances. By drinking mulberry leaf water, it will speed up the detoxing processes in our body (more excrement compare as usual).

So in this post, I am going to share some of my pretty simple steps on boiling mulberry leaf water.

Ingredients : Mulberry leaves (1 person normally need around 20++ pieces ) , Water (1 person normally 3 cup of water).

1)  First of all, prepare some mulberry leaves (I prefer to use fresh mulberry leaves instead of dry mulberry leaves. For dry mulberry leaves, you can get it from TCM shop) , you can put in some branches of the mulberry tree as well.



2)  Wash the mulberry leaves with water


  
3)  Put some water in the pot (in estimate way) and boil the water



4)  When the water boiled, put the clean mulberry leaves that prepared earlier into the pot. Minimize the gas fire level and cook for 30 minutes.


5)  After 30 minutes, mission done !!! Now you can enjoy the mulberry leaves water with family ^_^

Interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine



In the past few years, I used to read a lot of healthy & beauty materials. Gradually, I have cultivated a strong interest in the healthy and beauty area. I wish that what I read and learn from that, can keep myself away from the sickness and stay myself as young as possible as well. Indeed,, my healthy & beauty readings are mostly surrounded with the foundation of modern science and medical. 

My interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) began with reading the articles of Alex Wu (Wu Qing Zhong) from the daily newspaper in an accidental manner. Actually the articles are taken from his book ("Ren Ti Shi Yong Xue" - which mean the theory of using human body). His tried to simplify the concepts of TCM and delivered the key points of TCM in an easy manner (Unfortunately, his books only written in mandarin version). I was drawn to TCM’s theory of treating the root of an illness and was motivated by the way it worked to heal the body and mind as one entity. In the past few months, I tried to do research and practice with foundation of TCM theory, acupuncture points and herbology. (This is the only choice for me in order to cure my disgusted body issues like sensitive nose, knee problem, dark eye circle...... which have 'accompanied' me for quite a long time >.< ).

In the future post, I will share further on TCM topics and explain what's the natural power of TCM in rooting out most of the healthy & beauty issues.

Stay Young ? Take regular naps !


A nap is a short period of sleep during the day time period. We will face drowsiness during waking hours maybe after having the lunch or due to not enough rest. According to research, most of the peoples used to take a cup of coffee to sustain and "refresh" from sleepiness in the afternoon. A cup may temporary help you, but it is not a good idea for your long term of health.

From Traditional Chinese Medical view, your body is lacking of "Blood and Qi" (which is a Traditional Chinese Medical phrase) when you feel tired or sleepiness. If you insist to continue your activity during this period, the body will try to use the "blood gas" that stored in the body organs (especially from liver) to maintain your activity. Sometime, you will even feel ok even though no need to take any coffee after sustain for some time...... because the body is overdrawing the "blood gas" from your organs to maintain your activity. On the same time, your organs performance will be affected due to the withdrawal of "blood gas". Slowly, due to the low performance of your organs, your health level will drop and your skin aging will speed up as well.

I used to nap about 30 minutes every day. After napping, I found that my body and mind totally look refresh. My skin condition looks smooth as well. Some people find that even 5 or 10 minutes of nap is enough to feel refreshed (so it is depend on your situation). If you try to maintain a regular napping habit for few years, you will find that you always look younger than those who are in the same range of age with you. So next time when you feel tires, instead of drinking coffee, why not just try a nap ?

My remedy for curing acne & pimples

Actually I had posted my success story in fighting with pimples previously in a mandarin version. Due to a switch in language of my blog to English version, I decide to re-write the article again in English version (Ok, I will try to make it short and simple). Indeed, this is one of my most successful post in 2007, while I first published in Cari Forum Malaysia in mandarin version.

Let's start my story......

While I was still taking my study in an University, I had a serious acne/pimples problem on my face (maybe due to my hormone issue). As the pimples kept appearing on my face, I had totally lost confidence to my self. I not even dare to have a face to face conversation with others. I had met a lot of doctors but none of them able to cure my pimples eventually. Besides the pimples, the red scar which remained by the pimples was one of the disgusted issue that I was facing on that moment.

I had tried a lot of methods like facial treatment, products and etc but all in vain. I had ran out of idea for curing the pimples radically (Indeed, I knew Accutace is one of the great medicine for curing pimples but it had a serious side effect for the body, so I dared not to have a try)

One day, I accidentally knew that one of the medicinal herb called Mulberry leaf (pronounce as "Sang Ye" in mandarin) was useful for curing acne/pimples. I had a try on it. Yes, it worked !!! After drinking the mulberry leaf water for few weeks, my acne/pimples are totally cured !!! From that day onward, my face doesn't have acne/pimples problem anymore.....


* Every day, I boiled fresh mulberry leaves with water, drink three times per day.
(About 20 + + pieces fresh/dried mulberry leaves boil with water, of course, the
effectiveness of fresh mulberry leaves will be more prominent)

* This remedy is very useful for acne/pimples but NOT that useful for acne which caused by lack of sleep or stay up late.






Dry Lips ? Gargle with salt water !


Dry lips is one of the most disgusted symptom which is facing by most of the people nowadays. There are numerous factors which can lead us to such symptom like environment issue, drink not enough water, health issue and etc. As usual, when we have such symptom, normally we will go to the pharmacy or related shop to buy some lips oil to moisturize our lips. Indeed, I am the one who use lips oil on dry lips for many years. After a quite long period of using lip oil continuously, I notice that I seem to "addict" on using the lips oil (apply lips oil twice times per day for my dry lips). Indeed, it is just a palliative remedy, my dry lips symptom never turn better, keep using lips oil is just a temporary way for me to relieve the uncomfortable dry lips symptom.

One day, a doctor advised me to gargle with salt water (maybe he had been annoyed by me who keep requesting lips oil from him :P). So I tried the way continuously every night before I sleep. It works ! Nowadays I stop relying on lips oil but just gargle with salt water when the dry lips symptom happen. If you are facing the same problem, maybe you can have a try also ? ^^

*** Warning : Don't use your tongue to moist your dry lips with your saliva, it will only become worse ***

Feel sleepy...Coffee ? Don't over drink !

Nowadays, most of us having a crazy and busy life everyday. Overtime of work, tension, not enough sleep.....lead us to negative symptoms like sleepy, tired, hard to pay attention on our works and etc. So normally when you feel sleepy in the office, what will you do the next ? Coffee !!! Drink a cup of coffee to stimulate the brain and let the body to "forget" the sleepiness.

I did ask my colleague (who looks fatigue and I suspect he doesn't really with good health as well) how can he resist the fatigue/sleepiness for whole day without taking any nap in the afternoon (indeed, I used to take a short nap in the afternoon to give a pause for my body and recharge my power). Obviously, his answer is coffee. When feel sleepy, he will drink coffee. If feel sleepy again, drink another coffee again.....Yes, indeed this is the most common way for the office people to "hide" the fatigue and tiredness. The reason I use the word "hide" fatigue because coffee is just a temporary method for stimulate the nerves of the brain in order to suppress the fatigue. This doesn't mean that the fatigue has been gone, indeed the fatigue is still "store" on your body ! You will need "pay back the debt" later ! If you do not let your body to have a great pause and enough rest after that, the fatigue will still remain in your body. By continuing this bad habit without appropriate rest (bad life cycle), your health will fall into poor condition slowly (your skin will start aging earlier, sickness/disease will come to you sooner or later....).

A cup of coffee per day is good for your health and cheer up your day. However coffee is absolutely not the good and long-term way for anti-fatigue. To overcome fatigue, proper rest is the only and best way but not with coffee.

Moisturize your skin with Fish Oil Supplement



When we talk about fish oil supplement, normally an expert will list down a lot of benefits that we can gain from the fish oil like good for lung, smarten your brain, useful for health and bla bla bla. Yes, indeed I know there are thousand of benefits from fish oil but the only thing which I care is  moisturizing the skin. Everyday, I used to take at least one tablet of fish oil supplement in the morning after my breakfast. Sometime, if my skin is too dry, I might take two tablets or twice times a  day, which depend on the situation of my skin. After taking the fish oil supplement in a continuous days, the skin will become moisturized and not that dry & tight like a zombie........ So when you feel your skin condition become worse, perhaps you should take some fish oil supplements to get 'moisture from the inner skin layer' instead of just applying the moisturizer on the surface of the skin.

Boost up your energy with banana !


Due to long hours working in front of computer, stress, not enough sleep or not sleep well, my body always easily get into tired and lack of physical energy. To overcome my tiredness and energy problem, normally I used to take Glucose, Golden Clam, Banana and etc. Indeed, banana is the choice that I would like to recommend today. Normally I prefer to take two bananas before having further physical activities (sports, gym, ...). By having that, your physical energy will boost up in a prompt manner. Besides increasing your physical energy, a research did mention that banana is also good for cheers up people who is in a down or depressed mode. Next time, when you are stress and tired of your work, perhaps you can have a try on banana to cheer up your day o ~~ !!!



***Announcement*** - Switch from Mandarin to English



I have stopped my blog writing for quite some time. Now I decide to resume my blog writing with a switch from mandarin version to English version. Indeed, I know I am not a good English writer but I would like to have a try on that. Anyway, my blog will continue focus on those healthy & beauty topic and some of my life diary as well, hopefully you won't get bored on that :P.
